The Software Archæologist

Goodbye Redbubble, Hello Canva

Earlier this month, I finished up at Redbubble after 5½ eventful years of bringing more creativity into the world as a software engineer and technical lead. I am grateful to all the wonderful humans I have crossed paths with along the way. More on that the future...

Finding my next adventure has been a journey in itself. I explored opportunities at five different companies that spanned the full gamut from pre-series-A startup to NYSE-listed fintech behemoth. Come back to my site in the future if you are interested in reading more about my interview experiences. For now, suffice it to say that my decision was ultimately driven by values.

I am excited to share that I will be starting a new role at Canva. Canva’s mission is to empower the world to design, and its values are very well aligned with mine. I'm thrilled to be joining a company where I can be a force for good, empower others, and pursue excellence. Not only do these values shine through every aspect of the Canva product; they also show up in company’s commitment to “do the most good we can” as part of its two-step plan.

Despite all of Canva’s incredible achievements to date, its founders believe that they have only achieved about 1% of what’s possible. I look forward to coming on board and can’t wait to see what we will build together.
